Experience

Use tools such as Overleaf, SageMath, Jupyter notebooks, or data analysis workflows.

Research Goal

One useful scholarly product per project.

Possible products include a research poster, formal paper, conference presentation, computational notebook, or software-supported mathematical exposition. Teams can scale the work to fit the semester and student availability.

Semester Timeline

A typical project rhythm.

  1. Weeks 1-4: Choose problem + background research.
    Form teams, choose a problem, review existing literature, and submit conference abstracts if applicable.
  2. Weeks 5-11: Active research + analysis.
    Work with teammates and faculty mentorship to make progress on the core problem.
  3. Weeks 12-15: Poster, paper, or presentation.
    Finalize results, prepare the scholarly product, and practice presenting the work clearly.
